Finally got the picture situation sorted, we have been fairly rubbish on taking lots of pictures so we will aim to do a bit more snapping soon!

Hi Sarah! and Zach if you are not surfing...
I have at last, I think mastered this blog doobry as I wanted to catch up with you guys. Real prompt was your lovely letter to Rhio (she was very chuffed to receive and allowed me to read)Most entertaining Sarah. Think you should go into travel writing or at least attempt a novel on your return. Your letter gives lots of clues as to possible subject matter: How To Survive Surfing Holidays,Unusual Comfort Snacks,Boyfriend Guidence For Little Sisters (well, she is soon going to hit 13 so she needs to be ready and armed!)
Anyway, we all had fun in Scotland and Darwen with the old parentals. Moffat was sunny, actually scorching and we had a great climb up the Grey Mare's Tail and beyond. There is the most spectacular Loch at the very top, and of course dad, Rhio and Bill went for a dip. Liss had headed back long before that - her 7 year old legs and temper unable to cope, and I sat by the Loch side and applauded everyone else's bravery. I have to face facts; I don't do water unless I am practically dead of heat exhaustion!
Darwen was entertaining: my dad took the children fishing. Rhio caught a 2 inch baby Roach, and my dad caught a fishing float and an old camping chair. It was hilarious as he did believe he was landing a whopper... Mum later confided that in all the years she had known him to dabble in fishing, he had caught precious little.
Since we have been back I have enjoyed the luxary of hot showers (sorry!!) and a washing machine. I find myself standing in the kitchen happily sniffing the freshly laundered clothes.
I have been bitten by the DIY bug, believe it or not, and I am still plodding on with our bedroom decoration. Have almost eliminated the woodchip at last, and have been indulging in a bit of paper hanging. It is rather hap-hazard (but so are the walls!) and will not bear close inspection from my retired Decorator- father, however... it sticks and has only a few lumps and cracks here and there. Will have to ensure subtle lighting is the order of the day in there.
Anyway, folks are squeaking for lunch, and children are off either with friends this pm or having them here for a sleepover ie. we trade Rhio and get Alec and Chelsea in return.
Not looking forward to work at all. In fact the very idea is just putting me off lunch as we speak.
Sounds like you are having a wonderful experience and the pics are lovely, especially the Sunset.
Miss you loads and take care.
Love Elaine.XXXXX
