Very amusing and brilliant photos. We do have a little sympathy for Zach and shopping but only a little as am sure theres been more surfing than shopping!! Auntie says that shopping for a man is charater building and it is essential like breathing....just like surfing!!!!! We're having BBQ tonight in the cold. Apparently Auntie has some party poppers but I am not meant to know!! The "prom" last week with Michael Ball was excellent. J and C took canvas directors chairs and Colin fell through his!!! Most funny. Makes me laugh thinking of it now!! Much love from us all. See you soon!! Love you X

Portugal looks lovely I think Dad will have to take me some time. Pity about the surf, hopefully it will 'pick' up soon.
Well Henry is finishing the job in the morning, looks good now.I have a new fridge/freezer which am obviously pleased with.
We are looking after Mae tomorrow night while T/J are away for the night, she's such a smiler! also have Jac'for the day while L/J move so am looking forward to that.
Dad is doing the Historic Bike ride tomorrow in aid of Farth' church. He's cycling to the churches in the benefice and a couple more - prob' 7/8.
Interclubs this weekend so they're going to be lucky with good weather. I think it's Brazil next weekend.
Well your trip is coming towards its end so make the most of whats left.
enjoy the rugby Sarah!
Love your last comments Zach. Clearly girls revenge after all that surf widowhood you've been putting Sarah through!!
Well, we've had a busy time getting back into school/work routine. Actually I am not coping even more than usual on the old domestic front. Muck and mess even getting me down, I, who usually turn a blind eye to the lived in look.
Will was delighted to receive your card Sarah and I'm sure has lots to tell you about school. I think he is enjoying it immensely - unlimited space to play footy, loads of new mates, and haven't heard too much about the actual lessons. Noticed he had two lots of homework already, but he says that can wait til weekend, ummm....
The end of the holiday almost caught me by surprise and I realized the day before that I hadn't actually sewn any name tapes into Will's uniform. I had a sudden pang as I laid out his trousers - elasticated waist pulled as tight as it would go due to will's dimensions being that of a pencil or an anorexic peg doll - and felt very uncontrollably tearful. Of course dad was full of sympathy - not! and told me to pull myself together and not be so ridiculous. Thankfully, motherly affection and fluffiness had evaporated this morning as William did his best to grind Alicia down over breakfast. So, all back to normal and the term is underway.
Work was not nearly as bad as I anticipated, and I feel a bit more in the swing of it all.
Still deliberating over new carpets and not quite finished decorating the bedroom yet but I've big hopes it will be done before Christmas after next.
Anyway, I hope you make the most of your final 3 weeks or so and dad looks forward to seeing you back at the Forge.
Big Love to you both.
Although have to say i am a little jealous i am not there with them...all those shops......!

John and i are off out for the weekend minus the baby! Not quite sure how i feel about that but we have so far ventured out for a meal and to the cinema and our greatest achievement was getting three children under 8 all in bed by 8pm the other day! Jack and Harry had a great week with their little sister but wow was it hard work! Just to remind you it is a year since the wedding - in know its gone so fast! (o and also dont forget my brithday!!!!!)

Mae is currently asleep downstairs so have taken this opportunity to catch up on things - ie reading your blog! I have been keeping up with things but only when around next door so someone else can 'hold the baby'!!

You wont believe the change in my little girl - she is so different from when you guys saw her last - im sure she will be sitting on her own by the time you return!

John started his new contract yesterday which has taken him to Severn Trent Water in Birmingham, so a slightly longer journey but more money - my shoe collection was starting to dwindle so just as well! We will hopefully pick up the new car in a couple of weeks and you will be pleased to know its not a 300C!

Lovely to hear all your stories, John was quite jealous of all the Port tasting and i think he is hoping for a bottle to be brought back!

Hopefully the next time we hear from you you will be in Spain enjoying the surf?! Make sure you go in with him Sarah!

Missing you loads
Not sure what you are doing Zach!
Busy day today, Henry has blocked and rendered the doorway you wouldn't believe the difference.I drove down and picked Jacob up for the day, he was so good. Asleep in the cot in 'childrens'room tonight! He's brill running everywhere.
Mae has not just been laughing today but chuckling!
New fridge/freezer coming this week, can't wait to get rid of the old one - council taking it Friday. Now i'm working on the dishwasher!
Keep enjoying - Zach don't surf alone! new Portuguese shoes Sarah?!
I have at last, I think mastered this blog doobry as I wanted to catch up with you guys. Real prompt was your lovely letter to Rhio (she was very chuffed to receive and allowed me to read)Most entertaining Sarah. Think you should go into travel writing or at least attempt a novel on your return. Your letter gives lots of clues as to possible subject matter: How To Survive Surfing Holidays,Unusual Comfort Snacks,Boyfriend Guidence For Little Sisters (well, she is soon going to hit 13 so she needs to be ready and armed!)
Anyway, we all had fun in Scotland and Darwen with the old parentals. Moffat was sunny, actually scorching and we had a great climb up the Grey Mare's Tail and beyond. There is the most spectacular Loch at the very top, and of course dad, Rhio and Bill went for a dip. Liss had headed back long before that - her 7 year old legs and temper unable to cope, and I sat by the Loch side and applauded everyone else's bravery. I have to face facts; I don't do water unless I am practically dead of heat exhaustion!
Darwen was entertaining: my dad took the children fishing. Rhio caught a 2 inch baby Roach, and my dad caught a fishing float and an old camping chair. It was hilarious as he did believe he was landing a whopper... Mum later confided that in all the years she had known him to dabble in fishing, he had caught precious little.
Since we have been back I have enjoyed the luxary of hot showers (sorry!!) and a washing machine. I find myself standing in the kitchen happily sniffing the freshly laundered clothes.
I have been bitten by the DIY bug, believe it or not, and I am still plodding on with our bedroom decoration. Have almost eliminated the woodchip at last, and have been indulging in a bit of paper hanging. It is rather hap-hazard (but so are the walls!) and will not bear close inspection from my retired Decorator- father, however... it sticks and has only a few lumps and cracks here and there. Will have to ensure subtle lighting is the order of the day in there.
Anyway, folks are squeaking for lunch, and children are off either with friends this pm or having them here for a sleepover ie. we trade Rhio and get Alec and Chelsea in return.
Not looking forward to work at all. In fact the very idea is just putting me off lunch as we speak.
Sounds like you are having a wonderful experience and the pics are lovely, especially the Sunset.
Miss you loads and take care.
Love Elaine.XXXXX

In response to:Fiesta in Malpica

At last!
